In 2020, Dr. Goldberg transitioned from military medicine with a move to the Low Country. She decided to create Tardigrade Psychological Services, a small private practice where the psychological needs of the client can be met with more flexibility, dedication and patient-centered treatment options. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, and PTSD. In addition, she looks to optimize behavioral health in the areas of overall wellness, executive coaching, and sports psychology.

Dr. Goldberg was trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based treatment used to treat a number of mental health disorders, in which research has demonstrated effectiveness. The concept behind CBT is that our experiences impact the way we think about our environment. Our thoughts influence and at times dictate our behaviors. If we examine the thoughts, understand where they come from, then we can change our behavior and ultimately how we feel. In addition to current thoughts, behaviors, and feelings it’s sometimes necessary to take a deeper dive into one’s unconscious to grow and find peace. Dr. Goldberg uses both Psychoanalysis and Family Systems Theory to help her clients gain insight on how past experiences manifests into current behaviors. Dr. Goldberg firmly believes that this insight it the first step in healing and building a stronger foundation.
